With A Warm, Caring Staff and Stunningly Natural Results,
Our Approach to Surgery is Anything but Plastic
As a leading breast augmentation surgical center in the Southeast, CARE Plastic Surgery is consistently on the cutting edge of breast augmentation surgery and innovative surgical methods to add volume to the breasts. We often field questions on silicone, saline, and “gummy bear” breast implants (or anatomically-shaped breast implants). One of the latest developments in breast augmentation surgery is using anatomically-shaped implants to add volume to the breasts.
What’s So Special About the Anatomically-Shaped Breast Implants?
“Gummy bear” implants are one of the latest variations of silicone gel-filled implants. What makes the anatomically-shaped (teardrop-shaped) implants so innovative is the highly-cohesive and form-stable silicone filling. Because the silicone filler holds together (even when cut in half), these implants can retain the natural teardrop shape that mimics the shape of a youthful,l more perky breast. The most important feature is that, although they’re shaped and structured, these neat little implants manage to give a natural look and feel, and they are approved by the FDA.
No, They’re Not Solid
Even though the Natrelle 410 breast implants have the nickname “gummy bear” implants, they are actually made up of a semi-solid silicone gel held together with an outer silicone envelope. The semi-solid silicone gel helps give the breast implant a distinctly natural look and feel. Many women report they enjoy having even more options for the slope of the breast.
It’s Anatomically Shaped
The anatomically-shaped implants hold a basic shape that can remain intact over long periods of time. “Gummy bear” implants can do that because of their sticky, cohesive gel filler. These implants (along with the moderate and high profile implants) are available in numerous shapes and sizes and are customizable to fit the look and feel of each body type. The most common implant shapes are round, which improves a woman’s profile. Teardrop-shaped implants create more fullness in the bottom part of the breast.
Who’s the Perfect Candidate for the “Gummy Bear?”
If your breasts don’t have a traditional shape or contour, a teardrop-shaped breast implant, like the Natrelle 410, may be an excellent option. These “gummy bear” implants are great for:
- increasing size
- improving symmetry
- adding fullness and shape
Mild glandular ptosis is a specific type of sagging of the breasts many women experience due to age or after breastfeeding. Anatomically-shaped breast implants may be extremely helpful for reshaping and subtly lifting these breasts. Women who have tubular breasts may also benefit from these implants.
