What is Vasculaze?
Vasculaze is a specialized diode laser treatment option for visible spider veins, port wine stains, and vascular lesions like angiomas. It works by administering light pulses to the pigmented hemoglobin in visible veins or lesions, causing them to break up and fade over time. Vasculaze works at high peak power and offers contact cooling for increased comfort and safety during treatment. For many patients, Vasculaze can be an excellent option for treating visible veins and lesions, for which there are few treatment options.
Am I a Candidate for Vasculaze?
Many patients can benefit from Vasculaze treatment, but it’s important to discuss any health conditions that might be causing vascular concerns with our laser technicians during a consultation. Although some vascular concerns can be simply cosmetic, others might indicate a more serious health problem. Vasculaze is commonly used on areas like the face, décolleté, arms, thighs, and calves.
How is Vasculaze Performed?
During the treatment session, a specialized handpiece emits laser light energy pulses to the pigment in your visible veins, damaging them. Once these veins are no longer able to carry blood, the blood reroutes to other, healthier veins in the area. Over time, the treated veins die and are absorbed into the body as waste. In the case of vascular lesions, the laser pulses break up pigment so that the body can absorb it. The length of your treatment session will depend on the size of the treatment areas and how many areas will be treated. However, treating a single vein can only take a few seconds. After treatment, you can return home.
What Can I Expect After Vasculaze?
Most patients require three or more treatment sessions for best results. However, you can expect to see gradual improvement after your first treatment. You can return to your regular schedule after treatment with Vasculaze, although you should make sure to wear sunscreen on your treated areas. Our laser technicians can instruct you on when to return to your exercise regimen, as physical activity increases blood flow.
