Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)

Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)

An otoplasty or ear reshaping procedure is usually performed for prominent, large, or unusually shaped ears. The procedure can improve shape, positioning or proportion of the ears. The otoplasty procedure brings balance and symmetry to the overall aesthetic of the ears and face which provides immediate improvement.

How is the otoplasty performed?

If you are found to be a candidate for otoplasty, our surgeon will expertly reshape the ears with hidden incisions behind the ear near its crease or in the earlobe. The scars after otoplasty are discreet once they have fully healed. Otoplasty can be performed for any ear that has experienced trauma or has a deformity after cancer surgery. Recovery after otoplasty usually requires one week off work or school and often a headband is worn for a few weeks following.
