Forehead Lift/Brow Lift
When wrinkles and frown lines appear in the forehead or eyebrow area a forehead lift (“brow lift”) can smooth out the skin. The procedure provides a younger, fresher, and less worried appearance. The procedure can often be performed endoscopically through incisions hidden in the hair of your scalp. A brow lift can be performed alone or in conjunction with other facial cosmetic procedures, such as a facelift, eyelid lift, or laser skin resurfacing. Recovery from a forehead lift requires a week off work. There may be bruising around the eyes for up to two weeks that can be covered with makeup.
Can a brow lift be done under local anesthesia?
The majority of our surgical procedures are performed using MAC anesthesia. This alternative to general anesthesia provides a “twilight sleep” for patients in which they are able to breathe on their own, but they do not feel or remember anything afterward. In addition to IV anesthesia, Dr. Coan is an expert in utilizing local anesthetic to minimize immediate post-operative pain and discomfort.
