With the end of the year approaching, people are finalizing their holiday plans — squeezing in parties, reunions, vacations, and many more activities into a packed end-of-the-year schedule. And with all these opportunities to dress up and stand out, you’ll want to look your best from every angle.
Reduce Wrinkles With Dermal Fillers
One of the inevitable signs of aging is, of course, wrinkles. What many people don’t know is that there are actually two types of wrinkles: wrinkles caused by muscle folding (called dynamic wrinkles) and wrinkles caused by low collagen production. So, it makes sense that to solve the issue of low collagen production, we simply need more collagen in the skin!
That’s where dermal fillers come in. Though there are many different brands, like Juvederm and Radiesse, they all work the same way to simulate the presence of collagen in the skin. Although dermal fillers will eventually be absorbed into the body, they also provide an immediate “filling” effect for wrinkles that a plastic surgeon or aesthetician can use to your advantage.
Relax Folded Muscles with Botox
The hugely popular non-surgical way to get rid of dynamic wrinkles is Botox. The active ingredient in Botox relaxes muscles in problem areas, reducing the appearance of wrinkles in areas like the forehead and around the eyes. Botox is an FDA-approved, completely safe way to give you a more youthful appearance by eliminating one of the main causes of wrinkles around the face.
Though the results are temporary, getting regular Botox treatments can train the facial muscles to always be relaxed, increasing the effectiveness of each regular treatment.
Get Treatment in Time for the Holidays
While you may think the results of Botox and dermal fillers would be immediate, it does take time for the compounds to absorb into the skin and take full effect. For Botox, patients usually see full results a week after treatment. And dermal fillers, which are designed to take the place of elastin and collagen, can take up to two weeks to have a full effect.
Immediately after these treatments, it’s not uncommon for people to feel discomfort and swelling for a few days, especially for first-time patients. With both of these pieces of information in mind, you can see that if you want to look your best at the end of the year, you shouldn’t bank on scheduling your appointment for the middle of December. Instead, seek treatment from a board-certified plastic surgeon earlier in November or October to maximize the benefits of your treatment.
