Diolaze can be used on essentially any part of the body with unwanted hair. Our more popular treatment areas include underarms, lip, chin, sideburns, bikini, lower leg, and arms.

To ensure optimal results, we recommend 6 or more treatments per treatment area. Many factors include treatment area, hair color, hair type, and skin tone. For those seeking maintenance, fewer treatments may be necessary.

While there is no permanent hair reduction method, you can expect your Diolaze results to last up to one year or longer after completing a regimented treatment schedule. Patients can opt to receive occasional maintenance treatments in the years following initial treatment plans.

The diode laser works by targeting the pigment in hair follicles. By shaving prior to treatment, the shaft of the hair is shortened, allowing better accessibility for the laser to target the hair root and follicle. If a patient has not shaven shortly before their treatment, it is possible the light energy is not accurately targeting the follicle, making for an ineffective treatment. Additionally, hairs may absorb the light during treatment and leave burn marks on the skin.

Diolaze is a laser hair removal treatment that gently removes and prevents unwanted hair growth. Diolaze utilizes a diode laser to target pigmented hair follicles without damaging the surrounding skin.

Because Diolaze targets pigmented hair, it also incidentally targets pigmented skin. Thus, extreme caution must be exercised when treating Fitzpatrick skin types IV and V.

Common post-treatment side effects include mild sensitivity and redness in the treated area(s). We strongly recommend adequate sun protection and limited sun exposure overall.

Diolaze includes a built-in cooling system that soothes the skin throughout the duration of the treatment. A cooling topical gel is also utilized to supplement the treatment, providing optimal patient comfort. Most patients would compare the sensation to a rubber band or a bee-sting. With a large-plated applicator, treatments are fast and convenient.

Diolaze is considered one of the most effective hair removal options on the market. It is a permanent hair reduction method unlike waxing/shaving that has to be continuously performed. With Diolaze, patients come to their appointment freshly shaved in the desired treated area, unlike waxing where the hair needs to be grown out. Patients can also expect to notice less and less hair with each treatment they receive, whereas with waxing, the hair typically always grows back just as thick.

Diolaze treatments are typically pretty quick, but can range depending on the area. Smaller areas such as underarms can be preformed in as little as 10 minutes, full legs can take closer to an hour.

Sun exposure, sunless tanner, retinols, AHAs/BHAs, and exfoliants should be avoided for 2 weeks prior/post treatment. Patients should avoid shaving for 3-4 days after treatment. It is also important that patients not wax, tweeze, or remove the hairs from the follicle before and during the course of their treatments.

Hyperpigmentation and/or hypopigmentation are possible side effects of Diolaze if pre and post care instructions are not followed properly.
