What Is DiolazeXL?
DiolazeXL is an advanced laser hair removal system by InMode to safely and effectively reduce hair growth with a series of quick and easy treatments. Laser hair removal works by targeting individual hair follicles with laser light energy that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair shaft. Once absorbed, the laser energy travels to follicle and begins damaging the hair growth mechanisms. Over time, this causes the follicle to stop growing new hair. DiolazeXL uses advanced technology and a built-in skin cooling mechanism to ensure that you remain comfortable and pain-free during treatment.
Am I a Candidate for DiolazeXL?
The best candidates for premier laser hair removal with DiolazeXL are those with dark hair and fair skin. This is because the laser energy can most easily find the pigment in the hair shaft against the skin. However, our laser technicians can determine your best options for hair removal during a consultation if you have very light or white hair. It’s important to avoid plucking or waxing the hairs before treatment so that there is a defined hair shaft to treat. Additionally, tanning or using spray tanners can complicate the effectiveness of your treatment and should be avoided before your treatment session.
How Is DiolazeXL Performed?
Most patients can tolerate laser hair removal with DiolazeXL because of its built-in safety systems. However, we understand that each patient has a different level of tolerance so we can provide a topical numbing cream so that you’re comfortable. Once the treatment area is prepared, you’ll be given a pair of protective eye shields. Then, the DiolazeXL handpiece is applied to the skin along with a cooling gel to prevent burning. The length of your treatment session will depend on the size of your treatment area, and you’ll receive an estimate of what to expect during your consultation.
What Can I Expect After DiolazeXL?
After treatment, you might experience some minor redness and sensitivity. This usually subsides quickly. You should be sure to wear sunscreen on the treated area in the days following treatment since laser treatments can make your skin photosensitive. After your treatment session, you can return to your regular activities and even wear makeup. Most patients require at least six treatment sessions for best results, which can achieve nearly 80-90% reduction in hair growth after a full course of treatment. This can make at-home hair removal much easier and less laborious.
