SkinCeuticals Advanced Corrective Peel

A professional-grade peel using a blend of salicylic acid, lactic acid, and phenylethyl resorcinol, this treatment can effectively reduce discoloration, unwanted texture, and pore visibility. It works by exfoliating away dead skin cells and turning over a new, healthy layer of skin using active ingredients and chemical exfoliants. This process keeps the skin healthy, bright and unclogged through a series of four peels spaced four weeks apart. Enjoy it as a deep treatment before a big event or as a regular part of your skincare regimen to keep your skin soft, even, and free of damage.

During treatment, our skincare experts can ensure your peel is customized to the exact depth and timeframe for your unique skin concerns. However, this chemical peel option is considered to be light and requires little downtime. Most patients experience only slight burning or tingling during treatment. You may notice some light peeling or crustiness afterward, but this usually subsides within a day or so. We can recommend the right products for at-home use to complement your SkinCeuticals results. It’s important to regularly wear sunscreen in the days after your peel treatment in order to prevent hyperpigmentation.

Micropeel

The micropeel is an extremely light chemical peel option that can effectively exfoliate the surface of the skin, freeing it from dead cells, debris, and built-up oil. This happens when an alpha-hydroxy or beta-hydroxy acid is applied to the skin by a skincare professional and left for a short amount of time. Once the desired depth of treatment is reached, the solution is washed off and the skin is neutralized. Most patients experience only light tingling during this treatment.

There’s no downtime for this treatment, and you can return to your regular activities immediately afterward. You can even apply makeup and your regular skincare regimen (although you should verify any active ingredients you regularly use with our skincare specialists). Although many patients don’t notice any redness or visible effects afterward, it’s not uncommon if you have fair or sensitive skin. In most cases, we recommend a series of six peels spaced two weeks apart (which is a shorter timeframe than most peel options). You’ll have a noticeable glow for up to two weeks after your peel procedure, and we can recommend the right at-home products to maintain your results.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a Chemical Peel performed?

A professional-grade peel can include a variety of different acids and/or concentrations, such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, etc. After assessing your skin concerns, your provider will make a recommendation of what formulation to use. A provider will apply the recommended agent in a thin layer onto your face, neck, or other areas to be treated. It is common to perform one or several passes of the peel.

What is the recovery time for a Chemical Peel?

The expected recovery time will vary with different levels of peels. More aggressive and/or corrective peels tend to have longer associated recoveries.

What results should I expect?

Every patient differs to some degree in their response. Depending on the particular peel, patients can expect to see improvement in their pigmentation, acne (if applicable), and overall skin quality

How long do Chemical Peels take?

The duration of the peel will depend on the level of the peel your provider recommends. This can range anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour.

What will my skin feel like after a Chemical Peel?

Common responses patients experience may include a burning or tingling sensation, a sunburn-like sensation, or a feeling of tightness.

How many Peels will I need?

Many of our chemical peels work most effectively in a series. The average number of treatments is about three per package.

How long do the results last?

With proper skin protection and maintenance, you can expect to see your results for a considerable amount of time. Chemical peels do not prevent skin damage from occurring. With more sun and light exposure, your skin is still susceptible to further damage. We always recommend adequate skin protection to extend the life of your chemical peel results.

What are the risks of Chemical Peels?

The risks of a chemical peel include and are not limited to swelling, stinging, itching, burning, mild pain, tightness, peeling, and scabbing of superficial layers of skin. The sensations will gradually diminish over the course of a week as the skin returns to its normal appearance. Skin peeling typically lasts about 3-7 days but can last longer in some cases.

What are the costs of a Chemical Peel?

The cost of a chemical peel is dependent on the depth of the chemical peel needed. We recommend a skincare consultation with one of our aesthetic providers to determine the peel required to accomplish your desired results.

How do I know if I am a good candidate for a chemical peel?

Prior to any aesthetic service, we recommend a consultation with one of our aesthetic providers to determine the best treatment plan for you and your aesthetic goals.
