About DEKA SmartXide TETRA CO2 Laser Treatment

The laser resurfacing procedure consists of a laser light targeting your desired areas during the laser resurfacing process. How Does DEKA Laser Treatment Work?

The DEKA SmartXide Tetra CO2 laser works by creating microscopic channels in the skin that reach through the epidermis and into the dermis. Collagen can be most effectively remodeled, which occurs immediately after treatment. These channels heal within a matter of hours but will continue to stimulate healthy new collagen production for months. The result is improvement in your skin’s inherent quality, feel, and appearance with just a single treatment.

What Can I Expect After Laser Resurfacing Treatment?

At CARE, immediately after Dr. Coan completes your treatment, he will apply a biocellulose mask, to cool the skin as well as a thin layer of laser balm. These products will aid in a quick recovery following DEKA. After treatment, you will experience some skin redness with a burning sensation similar to sunburn for the first three to five days, but this part of the healing process can be managed with cool compresses and thin layers of laser balm ointment you will receive post-treatment. Your skin will require moisturization and careful cleaning during the following days, the laser balm you receive will aid in moisturization as well as protection for your skin. We recommend you limit sun exposure following your treatment and utilize SPF 30+ once the skin is healed. After a couple of days, your treated skin will begin revealing healthy and smooth skin underneath your rough top layer of skin. Your laser skin resurfacing results will be almost immediate, but your skin will continue to improve in overall quality, appearance, and texture over the next two months. Six weeks post-treatment, Dr. Coan will re-evaluate your skin and inform you if you will have additional treatments and when they will be. Treatment plans vary by patient depending on overall aesthetic goals. You will see results and improvements in your skin after just one treatment!
