With A Warm, Caring Staff and Stunningly Natural Results,
Our Approach to Surgery is Anything but Plastic
As the seasons change, it’s essential to update your skincare routine. After summer sun exposure, transform your skin condition this fall season. Keep reading to learn more about how to keep your skin hydrated with a top-tier, minimally invasive cosmetic treatment like CoolPeel® or CoolSculpting® at our Cary, NC med spa.
CoolPeel® is a highly customizable, advanced laser resurfacing treatment that is designed to target the superficial layer of the skin, removing damaged skin cells to reveal younger, healthier-looking skin below the surface.
We recommend that you take a break from CoolPeel® laser treatment in the summer and return to it in the fall. Although this is an amazing treatment that you will want year-round, some photosensitivity is to be expected, meaning you should avoid sun exposure as much as possible in the days following CoolPeel® treatment. Because it is more difficult to stay out of the sun in the summer due to stronger rays, we recommend receiving your next CoolPeel® treatment once the weather gets a little cooler. Additionally, it is common to experience lingering heat after treatment, so choosing to wait until the weather is a lot cooler, along with maintaining a healthy diet, can ease your recovery time.
CoolPeel® is a suitable option for a range of skin concerns, including treating wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation, age spots, acne scars, sun damage, pore size, stubborn fat, skin texture, and other blemishes. It is recommended that you receive a minimum of two treatments of CoolPeel® at least four weeks apart per treatment cycle to achieve your aesthetic goals. One treatment will reveal stubble, younger-looking skin, but multiple treatments enhance the results. Do you want to learn more about how to take CoolPeel® to the next level? DEKA SmartXide Tetra CO2 Laser is a more advanced version of the CoolPeel® and is performed by Dr. Coan to address deep dermal rejuvenation around the treatment area.
Although you can receive CoolSculpting® treatments year-round, fall is the perfect time to start your CoolSculpting® journey and avoid unnecessary heat. CoolSculpting® is a non-invasive option with minimal risk and minimal downtime that plastic surgeons can comfortably deliver thanks to the many advances of aesthetic technology. This sculpting technology is a nonsurgical fat reduction option designed to deliver high-energy light pulses that remove fatty tissue in the surrounding skin. This device simultaneously stimulates collagen production, ensuring a contoured silhouette for patients with a healthy lifestyle.
In most patients, it takes at least two CoolSculpting® treatments for each of the targeted areas to reach your best results. How many sessions a good candidate requires will be determined in the consultation. Starting treatments during the cooler months will give you considerable downtime before you reveal healthier skin in the spring and summer. Many of our patients have shared that they begin noticing improvement in the treated area about 4-6 weeks after initial treatment. However, skin tissue will continue to improve for 2-4 months after your last treatment. Because of these factors, we suggest that you kickstart your CoolSculpting® treatments in the fall so your recovery time is spent in cold temperatures and the cosmetic procedure can fully improve the target area before the weather warms.
