A Guide to Your First CoolSculpting Treatment
Stubborn fat can be incredibly frustrating, especially when diet and exercise are not making much of an improvement. If you have stubborn fat, you may want to consider a CoolSculpting treatment with our expert team at CARE Plastic Surgery. In one quick, non-invasive procedure, stubborn fat will be eliminated and you can feel more confident about your body.
What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved, non-invasive treatment that uses cooling technology to eliminate fat. This technology gently pinches the target area and then freezes stubborn fat cells that are resistant to diet and exercise. These fat cells will shrink and naturally be flushed out over the course of a few weeks by your body’s lymphatic system. CoolSculpting is an effective, commonly used treatment for the abdomen, upper arms, back, hips, and even under the chin.
Are You a Candidate?
It’s important to know that CoolSculpting is not a weight loss procedure, so the ideal client is someone close to their ideal weight, about 5-35 pounds from it. CoolSculpting does not necessarily shed the pounds. Rather, this treatment contours the body and dramatically changes the way you look by removing stubborn pockets of fat, such as stomach pouches or “love handles.”
What to Expect
One of the best things about a non-invasive procedure is that there is not much preparation or downtime required. Before your treatment, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration and avoid aspirin since this can increase bruising, a potential side effect after treatment. Your treatment will take 45 minutes to 1 hour, starting with the application of a thin gel pad to protect the skin. You should feel minimal discomfort during your procedure and the bruising that may occur after is mild and resolves within a few days. After your procedure, you will see results over the course of 1-3 months as your body filters out the destroyed fat cells. After three months, you can expect a 20-25% tissue reduction in the treated area.
