Juvederm: Cost, Side Effects, and What to Expect

With A Warm, Caring Staff and Stunningly Natural Results,
Our Approach to Surgery is Anything but Plastic

Injectables are an incredibly popular way to achieve subtle yet noticeable enhancements to your appearance without the need for invasive surgery. Among the most often requested treatments at CARE Plastic Surgery is Juvederm injections for correcting moderate to severe nasolabial lines. Dr. Coan always appreciates when patients are well-informed before non-surgical treatments, so we want to share some key information when it comes to Juvederm products and what you can expect – from the first injection session to your touch-up appointments.

Cost of Juvederm

Many people are concerned about getting good value for their money when it comes to cosmetic treatments. Juvederm and other dermal fillers can be an affordable way to enhance key areas of your face and soften the appearance of wrinkles, as each treatment can be around $1,000 depending on the area of concern and how many vials are needed. As with surgical procedures, the best way to know exactly what costs you are looking at for Juvederm procedures is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Coan. Learn more about filler pricing here

Side Effects After Juvederm

Injectable fillers require no downtime, but they do have some common side effects that may affect your lifestyle for a day or two after the procedure. Many people experience tiny amounts of bleeding from the injection sites as the fine needle used for Juvederm is removed. Any blood is simply wiped away as it surfaces and is not cause for alarm.

While the results of Juvederm can seem to be immediate, your long-lasting appearance won’t be visible until the swelling from the procedure goes down and the active ingredient, hyaluronic acid, takes effect. This is usually only a few days, depending on the specific Juvederm product used for treatment.

Additionally, people sometimes report redness and tenderness in the treatment area, indicative of the sensitive nature of skin following Juvederm injections. This is why Dr. Coan tells patients to avoid sun exposure and strenuous activity for the first 24 hours, as these side effects usually subside after a day or so.

What to Expect From Results

As mentioned, your Juvederm results can basically appear immediately, becoming more refined as any swelling goes down. Once finished with a Juvederm appointment, you may return home or to your regular activities heeding the instructions of Dr. Coan. Depending on the Juvederm product used and the location of the injections, your results can last up to a year, at which point you can choose to return to CARE for a touch-up to maintain your look. The results achieved from Juvederm are unique to your specific needs and desires, but in general, Juvederm helps soften deep wrinkles, smooth out fine lines, and add volume to areas that are hollow or sagging.
