Plastic Surgery Philosophy
Please take the time to explore the CARE website. Our office will always aim to communicate openly with you so you feel confident in the information you receive. Elective surgery should always be carefully considered and you should never feel rushed. My goal is to do all I can to ensure that the surgery you are considering is an appropriate and healthy option for you. While I may not offer every quick fix, understand that this is indicative of my highly conservative approach and surgical training. Quite simply, not only do we want you to be delighted with your result, we want you to be equally delighted with the experience of reaching your result.
Dr. Coan’s Clinical Faculty Appointment at Duke University
Sometimes people ask me why I decided to go into solo practice while also being Clinical Adjunct Faculty at Duke in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The answer to this is two-fold. First-off, I am grateful for the opportunity to be in solo practice and to have personally hand-selected every member of our highly educated office staff. The CARE staff are equally as enthusiastic about plastic and reconstructive surgery. Not only are they highly educated, speak multiple languages and have advanced graduate school education, above all they are truly caring. I honestly cannot say that this would be the case if I had chosen to work in a large, busy hospital. As a private practice we are able to offer extremely individualized and personalized attention to detail and service thanks in large part to our staff. Secondly, another one of my passions is teaching and sharing knowledge not just with my patients, but also with the plastic and reconstructive surgery residents. I consider it a great honor to be a trusted clinical adjunct faculty member in the world-class Duke Plastic and Reconstructive surgery program and an adjunct member of the medical school faculty.
Health Comes First at CARE
When you and I work together, my primary objective is to first and foremost determine your health status and obtain a full health history. As you can imagine, this takes time and great attention to detail. After we obtain your full health history, we’ll discuss your personal aesthetic objectives and wishes. Together we’ll create a plan to help you achieve your goals.
Tailor-made Treatment Plans at CARE
You, your health and your aesthetic objectives are unique. Together we’ll create a treatment plan customized and tailored for you and your lifestyle. Based on your health history and aesthetic goals, you and I will discuss your options, and you’ll work with our patient care coordinator on scheduling your procedure for a time that works best for you.
Safety, Science and Aesthetics at CARE
Today’s marketplace offers a wide array of procedures, products and promises and it can be confusing to figure out what actually works. It seems like every other day we hear about a new product or procedure that seems too good to be true. Part of our job at CARE is to help educate you about science-based aesthetic procedures and products. At CARE we only offer procedures and products that are backed by years of clinical research and evidence-based medicine. As a patient of CARE Plastic Surgery, you’ll experience a highly individualized and personalized treatment plan before embarking on any procedure, whether you decide to have a plastic surgery procedure, an in-office injectable procedure like Botox or purchase skincare.
